Emerging Technology, Innovation and Culture Evangelist for Public Sector, Google
Alexis Bonnell is the Emerging Technology, Innovation and Culture Evangelist for Public Sector and Strategic Business Executive at Google. She also serves as a Senior Visiting Fellow for the Center for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue. Alexis was one of the founding members of the Internet’s original Trade Association, served as a Chief Profit Officer for companies transitioning to a digital existence, applied her communications, project management, innovation and technology application skills in over 20 warzones, global disasters, and major transformation projects for the United Nations. At USAID, Alexis was a public servant who led transformation and knowledge management in the Management Bureau, served as the Agencies first Telework Executive, and started the Internal Communications practices in the Agency. She then became Chief of Engagement for Education, She was one of the Founders of U.S. Global Development Lab, at USAID, one of the premier Innovation Labs in government, and served as its Head of Communications, and Chief of Applied Innovation and Acceleration. She completed her most recent public service as USAID’s Chief Innovation Officer. Alexis also founded the Global Innovation Exchange, which served as the world's collection of over 16,000 innovations focused on helping change and save lives. Alexis also contributed to a bevy of culture and innovation programs at USAID, helping USAID adapt management, incentive, procurement, and hiring practices to meet the demands of the 21st century. Alexis has had the privilege of engaging with over 25,000 innovative ideas, investing in over 1,400, and learning from teams of incredible entrepreneurs around what really works when driving change and new models in government and value to constituents around the world. At Google, Alexis dedicates her time to helping public servants catalyze their missions with technology, and solve the world's toughest challenges.
