Chilande Kuloba-Warria has a cumulative eighteen years providing strategic leadership and management and technical assistance in institutional strengthening of local, national and international development organizations. She has worked in a wide range of sectors including: youth development; governance; health & HIV and AIDS; Sustainable livelihoods; environmental conservation. In these sectors, she has acquired extensive knowledge in various technical areas including: leadership development; resource mobilization; communications; partnership development; philanthropy, volunteer management and corporate social responsibility programming. She has increasingly applied her learning in OD consultancies that include developing and delivering OD trainings based on action learning/experiential learning models. In addition, she has undertaken assignments in editorial work, workshop report writing, strategic planning, resource mobilization strategy development, action planning and curriculum/manual development amongst others.
Ms. Warria’s has worked has extended into multiple African and western countries including: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, South Africa, Nigeria, Malawi, Zambia, India, UK, Netherlands, Scotland and Germany. She has extensive knowledge of various bilateral/X-lateral donor mechanisms especially those of USAID, UKAID and the EU. In recent years, Ms. Warria’s experience in strengthening CSOs has led her to play a leadership role in a nationwide consultative process that developed national standards of competence and sustainability for NGOs in Kenya, currently being administered by “VIWANGO” . She continues to promote good and effective practices in global and national philanthropy and grant management as well as promote standards of Dynamic Accountability in the CSO sector. She serves on several non profit boards and is a great supporter of African leaders, especially women in development leadership.
