Jimmy Alfredo Bolaños Carpio
Director, Technical Unit, Galapagos National Park
Jimmy Alfredo Bolaños Carpio is Director of the Technical Unit of the Galapagos National Park on San Cristóbal Island and strongly believes "there is no conservation without development, nor development without conservation". A native of the Galapagos Islands, he has held various positions in production, development, residence and mobility in public institutions, including with the Government Council of Galapagos and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock. With support from other organizations, he has positioned agriculture as the main ally of conservation in the Galapagos, implementing public policies to protect and support local production of dairy products, coffee, tomatoes and others, benefiting approximately 750 families.
