Lucie Amadou, PMP, is Counterpart International’s Deputy Chief of Party and Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) Advisor. Based in Niger, she leads the WPS components of the USAID-funded Participatory Responsive Governance – Principal Activity (PRG-PA) and the State Department- funded Kagalo/WPS project with a dynamic team of local development experts.
Ms. Amadou has over ten years of experience supporting democracy and governance programs in over 20 developing countries. As a champion for gender and social inclusion, she is passionate about strengthening equity and enhancing women and girls’ meaningful opportunities to inform local decision making, particularly in peacebuilding and countering violent extremism.
Fluent in French and Hausa, Ms. Amadou holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from the Catholic University of America, where she studied the role of women in post-conflict nation building.
