​Sessions: USAID Digital Strategy (Day 2 Afternoon)

Manisha Aryal is an international development practitioner with more than 25 years of experience in strengthening information and media systems around the world. In her current role at Chemonics, she works on digital media, online information, and usable security initiatives and provides hands-on technical support to our programs globally. Ms. Aryal has worked in South Asia, Middle East, North Africa, the Balkans, and former Soviet countries and has managed a range of information and innovation programs supported by USAID, DFID, and the European Union. She directed a multi-country human rights and media program funded by USAID; served as the chief of party of a USAID/OTI media project in Pakistan; worked on a series of USAID/OFDA-supported humanitarian information initiatives post-disaster and post-political emergencies; started and ran a thriving radio and television production house; and worked as a reporter, producer, media curriculum developer, and journalism trainer. Ms. Aryal has a master’s degree in journalism from the University of California, Berkeley.
