Morag Mwenya M. Neill-Johnson has over 8 years of experience addressing development challenges related to social inclusion and economic advancement across Africa through nonprofit and grantmaking organizations. Originating from Zambia, Ms. Neill-Johnson focuses on localization and applies an intersectional justice approach to her work.
Ms. Neill-Johnson is a program officer with Results for Development’s innovation practice, serving as the Secretariat to the International Development Innovation Alliance (IDIA) where she works on projects related to systems innovation, equity and inclusion in innovation, and the Million Lives Collective. She also coordinates the IDIA Training Course on Managing Innovation for Development Impact and manages the Global Innovation Advisors, a network of South-based innovation ecosystem actors engaged in IDIA activities.
Ms. Neill-Johnson’s diverse portfolio expands from implementing solar and WASH projects in East and Southern Africa to reimagining the funding landscape and providing technical assistance to community-based projects. She received her master’s degree in human rights studies from Columbia University and was inducted into the class of 2018 Most Influential People of African Decent (Under 40) in recognition of the Decade for People of African Descent. Ms. Neill-Johnson is a member of the Board of Directors for World Connect.
