Patricia Bright works for the Department of the Interior as Senior Science Advisor for Health and the Environment. She is currently detailed to the USAID in the Global Health Security Division (GHSD) as the Senior Technical Advisor on One Health. She has been serving as the technical lead for GHSD’s work with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization. USAID has a new project in development - “STOP Spillover” focused on building sustainable country capacities in Africa and Asia to develop, assess and implement early interventions that will reduce transmission and spread of emerging zoonotic viruses at high-risk animal-human interfaces. Dr. Bright is excited to be assuming the role of USAID lead for the new STOP Spillover project.
