Ric Goodman | Senior Director, Social Protection, DAI Global UK

Ric Goodman is DAI’s lead technical adviser on social protection, focusing on solutions to extreme poverty and vulnerability, often in fragile and conflict-affected contexts.

He’s led and advised on programmes providing cash, income generating skills and assets directly to vulnerable families, often combined with social and technical support, supporting basic needs and increased economic activity. A key theme of work is alignment of humanitarian cash transfer systems and the transition and strengthening of government shock-responsive social protection systems.

​Ric was Team Leader for the DAI-managed Hunger Safety Net Programme in Kenya between 2014 and 2019. HSNP provides long-term cash transfers to targeted families and uses remote sensed data to scale up to in response to the earliest signs of drought, assisting more than 2 million people in arid northern Kenya. ​
