Sergio Rivas
Chief of Party, USAID Transforming Market Systems Activity and Regional Managing Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, ACDI/VOCA

Sergio Rivas is the Chief of Party of the USAID Transforming Market Systems Activity and ACDI/VOCA’s Regional Managing Director for Latin America and the Caribbean. Since joining ACDI/VOCA in 2008, Sergio has served as chief of party for USAID-funded projects in Paraguay and Colombia. Prior to this, Sergio was a senior evaluator at Management Systems International and a certified USAID contract officer’s representative and agreement officer’s representative. He has worked in Peru, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, Afghanistan, and Sudan.
Sergio holds a master’s degree in economic development from the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (Bolivia) and a BS in industrial engineering from the Escuela Militar De Ingeniera (Bolivia). In 2015, the project Sergio managed in Colombia received the Order of Democracy “Simon Bolivar,” the highest possible civilian distinction awarded by the Colombian Congress, for its services to the Afro-Colombia population.
