Stan Byers
Cybersecurity Team Lead, USAID
Stan founded and now leads USAID’s first Cybersecurity Team, which is helping the agency to build awareness and capacity to respond to current and future cybersecurity risks related to development. He is also an International Security Fellow at New America focused on the convergence of economic growth, advanced technologies, and cybersecurity in emerging markets. Stan was previously the lead for economics and development for Afghanistan and Pakistan at the White House National Security Council, a senior official at USAID focused on Central Asia and Africa, and a leader of Ernst & Young’s Cyber Economics team, where he helped to analyze the geopolitical and economic aspects of cybersecurity.
