Tawanda Muzhingi

Tawanda Muzhingi is an Innovation Advisor with RTI’s Innovation Advisors. Tawanda works mostly within Food and Agriculture practice. Prior to RTI, Tawanda worked at the International Potato Center (CIP) CGIAR as a Senior Scientist working on nutrition-sensitive agriculture, nutrition-sensitive value chains, market systems development, gender, breeding for end-user traits/preference, and capacity building. Before joining CIP, Tawanda worked for nine years in human nutrition, carotenoids, vitamin A and antioxidants research at Tufts University’s USDA ARS Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging in Boston, MA. Tawanda obtained his Ph.D. in Human Nutrition and MS in Food Policy and Applied Nutrition from Tufts University’s Frieman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. Tawanda is also an adjunct professor in the Department of Food, Bioprocessing & Nutrition Sciences at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC.
