The First Round of judging for this year’s Innovation Competition is complete! Thank you to our judges and to the organizations for their respective submissions. It was another very competitive year for our Innovation Competition with four submissions moving on to the next round of judging. Please see the four finalists above. The next round will be held virtually at our Annual Conference on May 26, 2022. We’ll have another round of judges voting on a first place winner and we’ll also ask conference attendees to vote for their favorite innovation. Be sure to look for the Innovation Showcase at the conference on our virtual platform and cast your vote. We look forward to seeing you there!

Competition Guidelines
The competition will take place in two rounds:
Round 1: Participating teams will present the financial, environmental, and/or social values of their pitch through a pitch deck and video (see below). Finalists will demonstrate innovative solutions that have at least achieved proof of concept and have the potential to impact society, communities, and customers in the areas and countries in which the international development community works.
Round 2: The second round takes place during the Virtual Annual Conference as a second set of judges will assess the innovations presented in the virtual showcase and vote on winner(s). There will also be a breakout session dedicated to the Innovation Showcase. Attendees will be able to vote for a “Best in Show.” Winners will be announced during the Closing Plenary on May 26th.

How To Participate
Email your slide deck and link to your 3-minute video (YouTube), title of the video, the presenter(s) name, and a short 100-word blurb about the video to [email protected] no later than Friday, April 22 at 11:59 pm (EST). Please include "Innovation Competition submission" in the subject, and your membership affiliation in your email. The winning and runner-up video entries will be featured at our Annual Conference so please make sure you are happy with the quality before submitting it.

- This competition is open to SID-Washington institutional members only.
- Each Institutional Member may submit no more than two entries.
- Finalists will have their videos posted on the SID-Washington website.
- SID-Washington has the right to publish all applications and videos on its website and social media and will credit the organization.
